We represent Shur-Gain-Trouw Nutrition, a world class feed manufacturer that produces high quality feed backed by research and technology. As one of the largest non-manufacturing dealerships in Ontario, our business is strongly driven by our feed and dairy nutrition services. We take pride in building relationships and working directly with farmers to deliver personal on-farm nutrition consulting to improve herd productivity and profitability.

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly motivated, dedicated and proactive Dairy Nutrition/Seed Sales Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will be representing The Hitching Post on farm, providing proficient advice with high-quality products to help our clients maximize their productivity. Your primary focus will be servicing our existing loyal customer base while strategically growing our footprint in the area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Customer Service & Support: Act as the primary point of contact for current customers, ensuring their feed and seed needs are met with precision and technical expertise.
- Consultative Sales: Recommend Shur-Gain nutritional programs and Pride/Quality Seed varieties tailored to the specific goals of each producer.
- On-Farm Visits: Conduct regular on farm calls to monitor performance and provide proactive solutions.
- Product Knowledge: Stay current on the latest innovations from Shur-Gain and our seed partners to provide industry-leading advice.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue opportunities to expand our reach within the local agricultural community.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Agricultural Background: Strong foundational knowledge of livestock nutrition and crop production. A degree or diploma in Agriculture is highly valued.
- Relevant Experience: Previous experience in agricultural sales or on farm experience is preferred.
- Customer-First Mindset: A genuine passion for helping producers succeed and a commitment to exceptional service.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly with customers
- Self-Starter: Ability to work independently, manage your own schedule, and take initiative.
- Requirements: A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
